BEIJING (Xinhua) -- For a decade, researcher Zhou Haichao from Shenzhen University's College of Life Sciences and Oceanography has led groundbreaking conservation efforts in this coastal wetland. Since 2015, his team has deployed drones, satellite tracking, and AI systems to decode the complex ecosystem of mangrove forests, which were designated as Shenzhen's municipal tree in 2007 for their dual roles as "urban green lungs" and biodiversity guardians.
