La adquisición incluye marcas emblemáticas como Fundador, Terry Centenario, Tres Cepas y Harveys. Asimismo, entre los activos adquiridos se incluye la bodega de brandy más grande y antigua de España, Bodegas Fundador, establecida en 1730, además de plantas de producción, bodegas, viñedos e instalaciones de embotellado en Jerez. Entre estos también se encuentra una destilería de brandy en Tomelloso, así como existencias suficientes de brandy y jerez en crianza para sostener el crecimiento futuro.
El movimiento reforzará la posición de Emperador como compañía de brandy líder tanto en Filipinas como en el mundo. “La adquisición de los activos españoles y de Brandy Fundador tendrá de manera inmediata un impacto gradual en los ingresos y el beneficio de Emperador. Con la combinación de Whyte and Mackay y Fundador nuestro ampliado portafolio de productos tendrá acceso a más de 100 países”, señaló Winston Co, presidente de Emperador.

Deerfield, Illinois and Manila, Philippines, November 30, 2015 – Emperador Inc. today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Beam Suntory’s Jerez-based brandy and sherry business. The agreement includes the Fundador, Harveys, Terry and Tres Cepas brands, as well as production operations in Jerez and Tomelloso, Spain.
Emperador Inc. is the world’s largest brandy producer through the Emperador brand. “We are very excited about adding the iconic brands of Fundador (the Philippines’ premier imported brandy brand), Terry Centenario (Spain’s number one selling brandy), Tres Cepas (number one brandy in Equatorial Guinea) and Harveys (number one selling sherry wine in the United Kingdom) to the Emperador portfolio,” said Winston Co, President of Emperador Inc. “We look forward to continuing to invest behind the acquired brands, welcoming the transferring employees to Emperador and engaging with the local community.”

The all-cash transaction was valued at 275 million Euros.
