“Last year, the Sultanate of Oman was a guest country at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The memorandum that was signed confirms our countries’ interest in joining efforts to develop mutually beneficial cooperation on a long-term basis and continue the dialogue that began at the SPIEF 2024. I am confident that joint work at the Roscongress Foundation’s business and discussion platforms in Russia and abroad will enable us to expand the topics of events, attract representatives of the business community and leading experts of Oman, and also introduce our guests and forum participants to the centuries-old history, traditions, and culture of the Sultanate,” Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev said.
As part of the memorandum, the Roscongress Foundation and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will create common communication platforms in an effort to intensify bilateral cooperation in various fields, strengthen existing partnerships, seek out and develop new long-term partnerships between representatives of the business communities of Russia and Oman, and maintain a dialogue on cooperation in the investment and financial sectors, export-import activities, tourism, and culture. In addition, the two organizations will publicly promote topics related to events that are organized to strengthen ties between the two countries.
“The memorandum of understanding signed between the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Roscongress Foundation marks a significant step towards strengthening economic and trade relations between Russia and Oman. This cooperation opens up new avenues for business communication and investment opportunities. By joining forces, both organizations seek to promote more dynamic, mutually beneficial relations that will not only facilitate bilateral trade, but also strengthen cultural and economic ties between the two countries. The memorandum serves as a platform for promoting a business dialogue between Russia and Oman,” Omani Ambassador to the Russian Federation Hamoud bin Salem Al Tuwaih said.
In addition, Roscongress Foundation Chairman of the Board and CEO Alexander Stuglev and Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef held a meeting at the Omani side’s initiative. The meeting primarily focused on the Omani delegation’s participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Foundation’s other projects, as well as initiatives to organize a business mission of Russian companies to Muscat in October 2025.
The dialogue between Russia and Oman will continue at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on 18–21 June 2025.
